My name is Vuyolwethu Bakajana, born in Cape Town from one of the biggest townships called Khayelitsha, 7784. After matric, like everyone does, I started looking for a job — I didn’t have any experience. As I was job hunting, I found a job in a Chinese shop in Makhaza.

On my second week, I found a lady who worked in Pep Makhaza — she walked into our store looking for vision boards. I approached her, and that’s how I found the opportunity. I was really excited about the fact that I could leave where I was working. What got me even more excited was the fact that I’d get paid on profit share.

I then moved into the company house — that’s where I saw my growth. My understanding of the system developed and that helped me get more sales.
